To all of our generous supporters,
Green Eggs and LAM was founded as a grassroots organization to directly fund LAM research. Because of you, we have made major, pioneering, scientific breakthroughs.
Laugh Out LAM is pivoting away from major fundraising events to ensure we are providing our research team with the highest amount of funds possible.
We need your support to get to the finish line!

Our Story
Catherine’s Story
Catherine is the founder of Green Eggs and LAM, a volunteer organization that raises awareness and funds for research. LAM is a lung disease that affects women, and Catherine was diagnosed with the disease back in 2006. This is her story.
Humour for a Cause
Catherine was in the laughter business for more than a decade before learning she had LAM. After her diagnosis, Catherine set out to find a cure by harnessing the power of humour to raise money for LAM research.
Our Impact
Green Eggs and LAM is entirely non-profit, and 100% of the money we raise goes directly towards funding the research labs of Dr. Stanford and Dr. Shoichet, two leading scientists in Canada. It is your generous donations that have helped us reach major advancements in lung and LAM research.
LAM Genes
Discovered
Dr. Stanford and his team discovered specific genes that are necessary for LAM cells to survive. This important discovery has enabled them to begin creating new “biologic” drugs, which we hope will work in suppressing four of the genes required for LAM cell survival.
Important
Drugs Identified
Dr. Shoichet has created hydrogels that mimic the environment of lung cancer, which enables scientists to screen drugs and uncover new treatments. Using these hydrogels, Dr. Stanford was able to screen 800+ drugs for LAM and identify a class of drugs which specifically killed mutant LAM cells, and which will soon be tested to treat LAM disease.
Giving Back
Internationally
Dr. Stanford and Dr. Shoichet have shared their LAM cells and the lung-like hydrogel with the international community of lung experts. They have been sent to labs as far away as Japan, to iconic institutions in the United States such as Harvard and Columbia, and to an important company in Connecticut called LAM Therapeutics, as well as many more.
